Cub Creek Park

The Cub Creek TRACK Trail is located off Henderson Dr. from East Main Street, in Downtown Wilkesboro. The trail begins at the children’s playgrounds and wraps around the basketball and tennis courts, past the creek and fishing inlet, and finally circling the baseball fields.

This trail is 1.15mi of level land, and fun for all ages! Restrooms, water fountains and picnic tables throughout the area invite you to stay after you’ve hiked! Visitors can cross Bridge Street to enjoy an additional trail near the community and butterfly gardens, or down the street a bit to the new bridge and bike trail.

The Animal Athletes adventure challenges kids to exercise with the animals. This brochure gives kids eight different animal exercises they can do along the trail. From hummingbird hand-swings to frog hops, kids are sure to have fun getting in shape with the animals during their outdoor adventures.

This brochure-led adventure takes kids deep into the mysterious world of lichen. Kids will discover the three different forms lichen can take, and some of the features that make the lichen lifestyle unique. Kids will also read the Lichen story about Alice Algae and Freddy Fungi to help them remember how lichens work.
