TRACK Trails in the Path of Totality 2024

by Meghan McDevitt, April 3, 2024

A list of the four track trails in the path of totality for the 2024 solar eclipse
On APRIL 8th, a solar eclipse will be appearing across most of the United States. Many will be able to see a partial eclipse, but there are a handful of states in the path of totality. This narrow path encompasses areas where the Moon will block out the Sun entirely, and for a few minutes! Sites in the path of totality are the only place where you can experience true darkness in the middle of the day. Luckily, FOUR TRACK Trails are in this path!
If you want to experience a full solar eclipse, head to one of these TRACK Trails:
  1. Big Bluestem Trail (Grand Park)  - Frisco, TX

  2. Lincoln Boyhood National Memorial - Lincoln City, IN

  3. Possum Creek MetroPark - Moraine, OH

  4. Eastwood MetroPark - Dayton, OH

If visiting one of these locations, we recommend making your plans as soon as possible. This is a once-in-a-lifetime experience and people are traveling from all over the world to see it. Many of these places won't see another total eclipse for hundreds of years!

From zoos to planetariums, there are a ton of cool locations to visit in the path of totality. However, those not in the path will still experience a partial eclipse, weather permitting. For more information about what the eclipse will look like in your area, enter your ZIP Code into NASA's '2024 Total Eclipse: Where & When' page. For an engaging video of the eclipse's timeline, head over to the Great American Eclipse site. Don't forget to log an adventure on April 8th so you can earn the Eclipse Badge.
