Carolina Sandhills National Wildlife Refuge - Fishing

The Fishing TRACK Trail at Carolina Sandhills National Wildlife Refuge is located at the Oxpen Kids Fishing Pond. Oxpen is a youth-only fishing pond. The creel limit on channel catfish is five (5) fish per person per day. Located in the Oxpen Recreation Area, families can expect to see white-tailed deer, turkey, hawks, waterfowl, and small mammals, which can be spotted via the observation deck. It is also home to a variety of wildflowers, so there is something to see in every season! The seepage bog near Oxpen Lake 1 includes a large population of pitcher plants. Listen carefully for the characteristic call of the bobwhite quail May through July.
