As part of the Gorgeous Gorges Color Festival, kids cut the ribbon for a brand new TRACK Trail. The new kids trail gives kids a fun way to explore the natural wonders of Gorges State Park. As the day started, clouds gathered in the sky keeping the air crisp and cool. Visitors warmed themselves by the fire and roasted marshmallows for s'mores. Inside the visitor center, live music entertained the crowd.
When 1 o'clock rolled around, families gathered at the new TRACK Trail kiosk. After learning a bit about the program, the kids grabbed their scissors and officially welcomed the Gorges State Park TRACK Trail to the national network with the snip of gold ribbon. Afterwards, we grabbed some activity brochures and headed down the trail with Ranger Brannon Bryson to explore nature.
What an amazing day of outdoor fun!
If you missed the opening, don't worry. You can visit any time the park is open!
