Kids in Parks Receives an Award from the Army Corps

by July 31, 2015

Last week, several partnering agencies and volunteers were recognized at the W. Kerr Scott Dam and Reservoir in Wilkesboro, NC, by the United States Army Corps of Engineers for their efforts in maintaining and improving various recreational opportunities at the lake. Among the groups invited were the Kids in Parks program, and their friend, Todd Patoprsty, for their involvement in the development and installation of the Nature Trail Disc Golf Course at Fort Hamby.

The Nature Trail Disc Golf Course at Fort Hamby is a great course that was designed for both beginning and advanced players. Todd Patoprsty designed the course and helped the Army Corps with the installation, while the Kids in Parks program created the interpretive tee-signs and scorecards.
