Price Lake

Map of TRACK Trail at Price Lake

There are two types of TRACK Trails at Price Lake – hiking and paddling. Enjoy a kayak or canoe trip around a 47-acre mountain lake or enjoy a hike along the water's edge.

The hiking TRACK Trail adventure is for use on a portion of the Price Lake Trail from this trailhead to the beaverdam overlook. The hiking TRACK Trail is a 1 mile walk (2 miles round-trip). The entire Price Lake Trail is a 2.7 mile loop.

The paddling TRACK Trail on Price Lake is 2 miles round-trip if you follow the perimeter of the 47-acre lake. Motorized boats and swimming are not allowed at Price Lake. For your safety, you are required to wear a flotation device.

With more than 4,300 acres, including a small lake, Julian Price Memorial Park offers many activities, including hiking, fishing, canoeing, camping, and guided walks. The grounds include 100 picnic sites, with shelters and comfort stations. Canoes and kayaks can be rented seasonally for use on Price Lake, however, motorized boats and swimming are not allowed. You may also bring your own canoe, kayak or paddleboard. For your safety, you are required to wear a flotation device.

In addition to the TRACK Trail, another fun and exciting program for youth to do on the Blue Ridge Parkway is the Junior Ranger program! Become a Junior Ranger by stopping at any visitor center to pick up activity sheets specific to the local area. Complete the activities and promise to help care for and learn about America's National Parks to earn stickers, badges, and patches. Complete all 10 activity sheets for the Parkway and you will receive a special badge designed just for Blue Ridge Parkway Junior Rangers.
