We celebrated the opening of three new TRACK Trails in the Greater Washington DC Area National Parks on April 26th. The grand opening at Chesapeake and Ohio Canal National Historic Park was at 9:30 AM at the Williamsport Visitor Center. Kids in Parks was awarded Congressional Recognition during the ceremony. We were joined by 4th graders from Willamsport Elementary School for a ribbon-cutting followed by a guided hike. The grand opening at Catoctin Mountain Park was at 2:30 PM at the Camp Round Meadow trailhead. Here we were joined by local 4th graders for a ribbon-cutting ceremony and guided hike. The Manassas National Battlefield TRACK Trail also opened for TRACKing as of April 26th. The trailhead at Manassas is located in the Stone Bridge Parking Area, and features our first ever cell-phone guided brochure adventure! Read the Herald Mail article and see VIDEO COVERAGE here.
