This new recreational feature was developed through partnerships formed between the Virginia Department of Conservation and Recreation, Natural Bridge State Park, the Rockbridge Community Health Foundation, Rockbridge Outdoor, and Washington and Lee University. Additionally, the park partnered with the Blue Ridge Parkway Foundation’s Kids in Parks program to develop a series of educational scorecards that double as field guides, allowing players to learn about the “Birdies” and “Tree Love” they can find along the course.
The official kick-off will take place at 10:00 AM in the park’s Blue Ridge Trailhead parking lot, with a fun round of disc golf to follow.
This new disc golf course provides players with expansive views of the Blue Ridge Mountains; and, throughout the 18-hole layout, both beginner and advanced players alike will be challenged to bend their discs around the obstacles found along the course’s short, wooded holes and long, wide open fairways.
