On August 29th 2009, hundreds of visitors attended the grand opening of Asheville's newest nature adventure - the TRACK Trail. Located at the Blue Ridge Parkway's Visitor Center (milepost 384), the TRACK Trail provides four different self-guided adventures designed to gets kids reconnected to nature through exploration. The TRACK Trail program is sponsored by the Blue Ridge Parkway Foundation, the Blue Cross Blue Shield of North Carolina Foundation and the Blue Ridge Parkway.
