Kids Discover ways to ID Trees along the Parkway
On April 10th, kids and their families joined the Kids in Parks program’s Jason Urroz and Carolyn Ward for a hike to discover ways they could identify trees by looking at the bark’s texture, bud’s shape, and beautiful blossoms. Everyone was engaged, including the parents, as they followed the pictures and clues from their Kids in Parks Tree Bark field guides to identify a few of the most common trees found along the Blue Ridge Parkway. The program was so successful that 100% of the participants signed up to be a part of our Trail TRACKer Team.
