Easily accessible from US Highway 16A, Custer State Park offers incredible scenery, abundant wildlife viewing, historical and cultural resources, educational programs, camping, fishing, hunting and a Kids in Parks TRACK Trail.

The Kids in Parks TRACK Trail was superimposed on the Park’s Creekside Trail – a hard-surface trail that runs between the Grace Coolidge Campground and the Game Lodge Campground. The trail is 2.0 miles long (in each direction), and can be accessed at several locations.

Although the TRACK Trail is located on the Park’s Creekside Trail, our brochure-led adventures were designed to be used on any of the Park’s trails. From discovering things hiding in nature, to finding relationships, to learning how to identify native trees and birds, our brochures will help you discover some of the natural, cultural and historic resources that make Custer State Park such a special place.

The TRACK Trail trailhead kiosk is located near the Game Lodge Campground near a big brown barn called the Tatanka Theatre.

	Nature's Hide & Seek The Nature's Hide & Seek brochure is designed so that kids of all ages can walk along the trail and discover common things that are often overlooked in nature. As you walk along the trail, the brochure will tell you a story about a few of the relationships that can be found. 	Birds of the Black Hills The Birds of the Black Hills brochure is an illustrated field guide containing some of the more common birds found along the trail. Each illustration contains the bird's common name, Latin name and phonetic spelling of their call. Having trouble locating birds? 	Need for Trees By following the picture and textual clues found in "The Need for Trees" brochure, you will discover six of the more common trees found in Custer State Park.
